Settings
Settings decide what the command line fills in, which competition rules Checks follow, how codes get their video times, the tables a .dvw carries, and your keys.
Open the settings
- In a match, click Menu at the left of the top bar.
- Open the Settings tab.
The page has these sections, from the top:
| Section | What it sets | Belongs to |
|---|---|---|
| Typing | The skill, type and rating a code gets when you leave them out | the season |
| Rules | Substitutions per set, libero serving, confirming set ends | the season |
| Video | Exact or predictive video times, clip lead-in and run-on | the season |
| Winning symbols | Which ratings end a rally | the season |
| Attack combinations | The combination table | the season |
| Setter calls | The setter-call table | the season |
| Keys | The key for each action | this computer |
| Keys that type | Keys that type other text on the command line | this computer |
| Crash reports | Whether Courtside sends crash reports. Saved at once, without Save settings. | this computer |
Click Save settings at the bottom to save the whole page. If something can't be saved, for example a key set for two actions, the reason shows above the button and nothing is saved.
When changes apply
After you save, the page says: "Saved. Keys and typing apply at once, in every match. Combination and setter-call tables reach new matches only."
- Typing, rules, video and keys apply straight away, also in a match you already started.
- The tables (winning symbols, combinations, setter calls) are copied into each match when it's created. A match keeps the tables it started with.
The season's settings and this computer's
Most settings belong to the season: anyone who opens the season file gets them.
Keys belong to the computer: every season and match you open on it uses the same keys, and the same season opened on another computer uses that computer's keys. Until you save keys on a computer, it uses Courtside's own (or keys an older season file brought with it).
